Meet Our Staff

Heather Smyth, MScPT, BScHK, DipSIM - Registered Physiotherapist, Owner

Heather Smyth Heather holds a Master of Science in Physical Therapy from Queen’s University, a Bachelor of Science in Human Kinetics from the University of Guelph and a Diploma in Sports Injury Management from Sheridan College.  She has over 20 years of accumulated rehabilitation experience in the fields of Physiotherapy, Athletic Therapy and Kinesiology.

She started her career working with athletes and treating sports injuries.  Her first sport injury experience was as a Sport Medic at high school football games and progressed from there.  As the Athletic Therapy Coordinator at Trinity Western University in British Columbia she was responsible for the care of roughly 150 varsity men’s and women’s student-athletes.  While there, she taught the senior level Athletic Injuries course in the department of Human Kinetics and taught Sport First Aid and Athletic Taping courses for SportMed BC.

Additionally, she has been a volunteer member of the medical teams at the Pan-American Games, the Western Canada Summer Games and for Canada Cup International Women’s Fast-pitch and Women’s U-19 International Lacrosse tournaments.

After returning to school to complete her physiotherapy training, Heather has gone on to take post-graduate training in manual therapy (Mulligan, Level 1 Certification, peripheral manipulation), the McKenzie Method for low back and neck injuries, medical acupuncture, K-Taping® and numerous other topics.

In addition to her clinical work, Heather has provided physiotherapy services at Southgate Residence and Harrowood Seniors Community.  She is also happy to share her physiotherapy knowledge through presentations to coaches, elementary and secondary students, and service clubs.

Heather enjoys treating patients of all ages, with varied injuries and conditions.  She is pleased to welcome new and returning patients to Erie Shores Rehabilitation.


Roberta Weston, BPHE, DipSIM - Registered Kinesiologist, Business Manager

Roberta WestonRoberta holds a degree in Physical and Health Education from the University of Toronto and a diploma in Sports Injury Management from Sheridan College.  She has over 20 years of accumulated rehabilitation experience.

Roberta has vast and varied experience working with athletes and sport injuries.  She was the Team Therapist to Seneca College’s varsity men’s volleyball, hockey and soccer, the Georgetown Jr. A. Raiders Hockey team, Team BC U-16 girls’ fast-pitch and secondary school rugby, wrestling and hockey teams.  She has volunteered at the Pan-American Games, Western Canada Summer Games, Canada Cup International Women’s Fast-pitch and Sunlife National Figure Skating competitions.

Prior to coming to Erie Shores Rehabilitation, Roberta managed a retail orthopedic bracing store and is highly skilled in brace fitting.  She also provided physiotherapy services at Royal Oak Long-term Care, Leamington Court Retirement Residence and Harrowood Seniors Community.  In addition to her current clinical work, Roberta continues to volunteer and lead a senior’s exercise class at Harrowood.

Roberta has taken professional development courses related to the treatment of osteoporosis and low back injuries, and the use of balls, bands and K-Taping® in rehabilitation.

For the past 10 years, Roberta has worked extensively with injured workers.  She understands the WSIB system and is ready to support and advocate for you as she helps with your recovery.

Roberta would be happy to use her experience with seniors, sports and WSIB to help you regain your quality of life.


Natalie Kocsis - Administrative Assistant

Natalie KocsisNatalie holds a degree in International Relations and Development from the University of Windsor and has completed course work in Human Resources Management at St. Clair College.  She has been the Administrative Assistant at Erie Shores Rehabilitation since 2007, coordinating all insurance billing and helping patients through the insurance process.

Aside from her regular front desk duties, Natalie also maintains our Facebook page, providing motivational quotes and clinic updates to our followers, and is responsible for the creation of our newsprint ads. 

 


Stephanie Wuerch - Administrative Assistant

Stephanie WuerchStephanie has been cheerfully receiving the patients at Erie Shores Rehabilitation for over fifteen years.  She always enjoys meeting and serving new customers as well as providing friendly service to our current patients.

Stephanie earned a diploma in fashion merchandising and she began her sales career in Toronto.  Within a few years, she was managing two retail stores in the downtown Toronto area before moving back to her home of Kingsville where she sold real estate with Re/Max Realty for a number of years.

After becoming a mom, she made the switch to part time hours at Erie Shores Rehabilitation.  Working part-time has afforded her the opportunity to spend quality time raising her family while still enjoying the world of work.

Christine & Dave McCormick - Founders

Christine and Dave saw a need for high quality physiotherapy services in Kingsville and opened Erie Shores Rehabilitation at the original Lansdowne location in 1995.  They operated the clinic at 375 Main Street East until 2011 and now enjoy retirement, traveling and caring for their grandchildren.
